Grace is a vibrant, welcoming and affirming congregation that has been a part of the Radford community and member of the Episcopal Diocese of Southwest Virginia for over 125 years. Don't let our size fool you. We may be small, but we are known for doing some of the most ambitious, exciting, and cutting edge mission work in the community, nationally, and internationally. We welcome and love dialogue on big, small, and in between issues. We constantly strive to be a relevant, and effective spiritual home.
We welcome all to join us in our prayerful and sacramental practices.
Worship and Fellowship
The center of our common life is the Eucharist (Holy Communion) which is celebrated at 8:00 am and 10:30 am on Sundays.
Grace Episcopal Church of Radford, VA invites you to worship with us whether you are simply visiting the area or looking for a church home.
The Episcopal Church strives to live by the message of Christ, in which there are no outcasts and all are welcome. We are a sacramental, liturgical, worship-oriented church that promotes thoughtful debate about what God is calling us to do and be as followers of Christ.
Grace Episcopal Church self-identifies as a missional church. We respond to needs in our community with a focus on a different local mission each month. Under-utilized space in our building has been transformed into Grace Rooms, a temporary shelter for local homeless women, and we reach out to Radford's large student population through Red Door Ministry, a student ministry on Radford University's campus.
We have also responded to the broader community when needed, traveling to New Orleans, LA on two separate trips to help with clean up and rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Katrina and traveling to Corozal, Belize on four trips to work at St. Paul's by the Sea Anglican Church and School - offering physical labor for renovations and providing Christian education for children through art and activities.
A quiet community with a small town feel, Radford residents and visitors enjoy the outdoors with beautiful parks connected with extensive walking and biking trails.
Members of Grace Episcopal Church are deeply involved in the Radford community with roles in city government, the school system, the university, non-profit organizations and more.
