Our Community
Nestled in the heart of Virginia's New River Valley, the City of Radford offers an attractive lifestyle for its residents. Centered along the eight miles of Radford's river frontage are over over 100 acres of parks and recreational areas, including 5.5 miles of new biking, walking, and hiking trails. Radford's K-12 school system is comprised of four schools and boasts an excellent student-to-teacher ratio. At all levels the system consistently ranks among the best in the state in both academics and athletics.
Home to Radford University and it's 9100 students, Radford's 12,000 permanent residents benefit from the diversity the university adds to the community. There are many cultural, educational and entertainment activities that are not often found in an area of this size. Radford has excellent health care facilities, and active downtowm, and a vigorous business community. It is truly a city with a small town feel, making Radford an ideal place to minister and live.
